Wayne State HIGH Program donates canned goods and clothing to the Detroit Rescue Mission Ministries

The HIGH (Helping Individuals Go Higher) Program began in 2013 with a goal to help homeless, precariously housed and financially challenged students to persist in their goal to earn a degree from Wayne State University.

The HIGH Program recently partnered with the Detroit Rescue Mission Ministries in an effort to donate canned goods, and clothing to needy individuals and families in Detroit. This was all possible because of the HIGH Program's generous donors.

The Detroit Rescue Mission is a non-profit organization that is devoted to helping individuals rebuild their lives and fight against homelessness and substance abuse.

The Detroit Rescue Mission Ministries serves more than 1,800 men, women and children in the Detroit community every day. Wayne State University’s first lady, Jacqueline Wilson, established the HIGH Program so that students do not have to choose between financing basic necessities and earning a degree. Students at Wayne State are working hard for a successful life. Regardless of the hardships some may face, they are determined to graduate and contribute to the world. Through the HIGH Program, students have an opportunity to transform lives.
